De Aar Solar Power’s operations team chose to put their ’67 minutes’ at ‘God is Good’ ECD Centre, a small crèche and aftercare facility, situated in the De Aar community.
The Early Childhood Development Centre, which also looks after children from St Johns Primary, who need after care, received a handout of school bags and stationery.
Two sewing machines were also donated, especially for a small group of talented girls in Grade 6 and Grade 7, who are interested in building on their needlework skills.
“We hope that these sewing machines will open up opportunities for these young girls and be a creative outlet for them,” said Hlengiwe Radebe, Economic Development Director for De Aar Solar Power.
There was also time spent with the children, playing of games, and all-round fun, in celebration of Mandela Day.
