Associations & Awards

Globeleq is proud of its professional associations and the awards won for its projects in South Africa.

Globeleq is a member of the following industry associations:

South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA): established in 1998, SAWEA is a registered non-profit organisation focused on the removal of obstacles to the implementation of sustainable wind energy activities in Southern Africa.

 

South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPIA): a not-for-profit body consisting of active players in South Africa’s photovoltaic market who have a genuine, invested presence in the country. The association is devoted to promoting the growth of the country’s solar photovoltaic (PV) electricity market, and aims to contribute to the country’s renewable energy roll-out.

2023 – SAWEA Environmental Stewardship Award

The award honours a company that demonstrates a commitment to sustainable energy and exemplify and being a role model in environmental stewardship.

2022 – SAWEA Safety Net Award

The award acknowledges exemplary health and safety plans in line with international best practice standards and demonstrates continuous improvement in safety performance.

2015 – Power In Africa Award, Africa Megawatt Leader

This award honours the organisation that delivers the most renewable power on the ground across Africa.

2014 – ETA Awards, runner up
